The brand’s Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman goes on to explain that the color was inspired by nature, primarily the red of cochineal, one of the most precious natural dyes as well as one of the strongest and brightest the world has known.
Viva Magenta balances warm and cool tones, straddling the physical and virtual in a multi-dimensional world. “It is assertive, but not aggressive, a carmine red that does not boldly dominate but instead takes a “fist in a velvet glove” approach. Pantone’s color of the year influences everything from fashion and interior design to everyday products like mobile phone covers. While some make it a point to go with the color trends, others unintentionally gravitate towards it as the repetitive use of the color influences decisions at a subconscious level.
